The New Order

I recently gave Microsoft’s LinkedIn platform another chance. LinkedIn masquerades as a business networking platform, but is heavily engaged in AI promotion and infested with countless users who are turning phony into the new real, so I am changing my approach to LinkedIn.

I will no longer post any substantial content on my page. The specific reasons are various:

  • Microsoft’s incessant promotion of AI and promotion of AI promoters.
  • Infestation with countless self-styled coaches who purport to sell the secrets to “LinkedIn success,” the very belief in which, of course, is a delusion born of desperation.
  • A recent case in which Microsoft cut me out of a perfectly harmless discussion with another translator, preventing me from posting a comment in an already ongoing discussion and displaying a cryptic screen that hinted that it had reasons for preventing me from posting, but not stating the actual reason.

Microsoft clearly does not welcome users not “aligned” with its business model, subjecting them to shadow-banning and worse.

Accordingly, all my posts my LinkedIn page going forward will be limited to links to writings of mine in places under my control, not Microsoft’s, with only a very short lead-in to introduce what the link leads to. Comments will be switched off.
