Mixed Metaphors as Democracy and Freedom Hang in the Balance

As Putin makes every effort to return to the pre-1991 world order, POTUS is helping him achieve that return. And what about the Democrats and most Americans? Well, to mix metaphors, they are acting like deer frozen in the headlights of the gathering storm.

It appears that all that was achieved in 1991 was forcing a rogue state to change its name but allowing it to remain basically the same. The job must now be completed. People of conscience must wake up and do the necessary. Defeat of Russia and removal of Trump are urgent imperatives.

Where are they?

As Trump betrays Ukraine and other US allies and forms an alliance with—and acts as an agent of—an enemy state ruled by a war criminal, where are the Democrats? They need to act, and act now. 

And people in the general public who value democracy need to take to the streets to show that they won’t allow the US to take these reckless actions under Trump’s rule.

Are they not acting because it is not they who are being killed by the military from Trump’s friend in the Kremlin?

Americans can and should step up to do the necessary. Things need to be made so hot that Trump and hopefully his leading sycophantic minions as well decide to take the option of asylum in Russia, something which might have been discussed in those secret conversations between Trump and Putler.

America needs to return to normalcy. Waiting four years is not an option and it might not be possible at that point. This is not a Drill. Repeat, this is not a drill.

A Wakeup Call: The Newly Announced Russo-American Alliance

The insulting and arrogant attack on Ukrainian President Zelensky in front of global media in the Oval Office by Trump and Vance on February 28th signals the beginning of what could best be characterized as a Russo-American alliance.

Trump repeated lies about the Russo-Ukranian War, pulling his ridiculous lies straight from Putin’s propaganda playbook. Trump and Vance brought disgrace to the offices they and to their country, if indeed they still feel that the US is their country. I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump has a contingency plan for asylum in a foreign state, in the event there is an unforseen outcome in the US, but that might need people to wake up, and the Democrats and many Americans appear not eager to act to solve this problem.

This new development clearly demonstrates the crisis not just the US, but the entire free world is facing. And with Trump rapidly replacing heads of judicial and intelligence-gathering agencies with loyal minions, this becomes an extraordinary crisis. I hope the American people and the frozen deer-in-the-headlights Democrats are prepared to effect an extraordinary solution for this problem
