One of my main annoyances with Microsoft’s LinkedIn’s (from which I have deleted everything, including all my posts and all 100-plus comments on posts from others) was the incessant promotion of AI, by both the owner, Microsoft, and users.
The phoniness, denial, and delusional behavior of many users was also an influence on my decision— I have now deleted the app from my iPhone—but the constant promotion of AI and shadow-banning of AI-critical posts were the major factors.
AI brings us myriad things we didn’t ask for, don’t need. and were doing just fine without before the tech broligarchs vomited AI on us.
I say fuck AI and fuck the oligarchs promoting it.
Let’s visit the real world more often, and the real world is not AI, it’s not LinkedIn, it’s not Facebook, and it’s not much of anything online.
You access the real world by turning your computer off and heading for the door. There’s a lot going on out there. It’s sometimes not for the faint-hearted, but it’s out there for the taking.
I’ll say it again.
Fuck AI and fuck the AI-promoting oligarchs, including the shameless ballroom donors, one being Microsoft.
